Phokeng, 14 March 2020. We join the Zulu Nation as it mourns the passing of His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.
For more than half a century, the King served as a guide and guardian of his people, working to ensure their prosperity and wellbeing. As a traditional leader, his role was never easy, but he committed to it wholeheartedly and worked tirelessly to make the ambitions of his people a reality.
Although His Majesty had been hospitalised for quite some time, we anticipated his full recovery and looked forward to his return home to continue his life’s work. The news of his passing, therefore, came as quite a shock.
On behalf of the Royal Bafokeng Nation, we offer our most heartfelt and sincere condolences to the Royal Family and the Zulu Nation at large. May you be comforted during this most difficult time and draw strength in the knowledge that His Majesty's race was well run, and that his legacy shall be etched in the annals of history.
