It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Her Royal Majesty, the Queen Mother Dr Semane Bonolo Molotlegi of the Royal Bafokeng Nation (RBN) on 28 November 2020.
The Queen Mother, Mmemogolo as she was affectionately known, played a pivotal role in the Bafokeng Nation to become the model traditional community that it is today. The Queen Mother was the founder of the Bafokeng Women’s Club and also the Patron / Founder of the Thuto Thebe Educational Fund that is focused on education and community development advocacy in memory of both her husband, Kgosi Edward Lebone, and her firstborn son Kgosi Mollwane Lebone II.
She is survived by her four children, Kgosi Leruo Molotlegi, the present King of the Royal Bafokeng Nation, Prince Bothata Molotlegi, Princess Motswana Molotlegi and Princess Tirelo Molotlegi as well as her grandchildren.
